KARAKTERISASI DAN PEMBUATAN ADSORBEN DARI FLY ASH PT. EVERGREEN INTERNATIONAL PAPER

Abstract


PT. Evergreen International Paper uses coal as a producer of electrical and thermal energy. Coal combustion produces solid waste in the form of Fly Ash (Fly Ash) known as B3 waste which has only been disposed of by land filling. Several studies have concluded that fly ash has a good adsorption capacity to reduce COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) in wastewater, absorb organic gases, heavy metal ions and pollutant gases. Modification of physical and chemical properties needs to be done to increase Fly Ash adsorbtion capacity as an adsorbent. Modification of physical and chemical properties has been done to increase the adsorbtion capacity of Fly ash as adsorbent by washing to remove impurities using H2SO4 with different concentration variations. In washing with 10% H2SO4 for 2 h, the highest SiO2 concentration and lowest Al2O3 were obtained
