INOVASI DESAIN MOTIF PARANG: STUDI KASUS KOLEKSI MUSEUM BATIK DANAR HADI
Abstract
Tulisan ini membahas tentang inovasi desain motif parang Batik Danar Hadi. Batik Danar Hadi adalah salah satu produsen dan sekaligus museum di Surakarta yang dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan bahkan internasional. Inovasi desain motif adalah keniscayaan bagi pelaku industri batik. Sebagai produsen batik Danar Hadi melakukan kreasi dan inovasi desain motif. Salah satu diantaranya adalah inovasi desain motif parang. Inovasi desain motif parang juga dimungkinkan karena kekayaan koleksi Museum Danar Hadi sebagai sumber rujukan atau referensi visual. Dua belas jenis motif parang yang dijadikan sampel penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi desain motif parang terjadi pada beberapa aspek, yakni vokabuler visual, nomenklatur motif parang, pola pembagian bidang parang, pola warna, dan teknik pembuatan.
